Sheila Miller, M.Mus., has been teaching private singing and piano lessons for 25 years.  She has transitioned to online classes via Zoom for the pandemic.  Normally she sees about 20 students a week in her home studio three short blocks from Rosedale subway station in central Toronto.  Sheila prepares interested students for Royal Conservatory of Music exams and the Kiwanis Festival and she organizes two student concerts a year for performance experience and fun!

 

Sheila holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Universite de Montreal and a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from McGill University, as well as Grade X Flute with required theory from the Royal Conservatory of Music.  She won scholarships and competitions during her training and appeared as soloist with the Montreal Symphony under Charles Dutoit and in many churches.   Sheila has a wealth of choral experience, including the Montreal Symphony Chorus and National Youth Choir.  She enjoys teaching all ages and levels, including musicianship and sight singing.   Sheila is a member and past Treasurer of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association (ORMTA), Central Toronto Branch.  

 

Sheila's knowledge of posture and breathing is informed by her many years of yoga teaching and practice experience.  She has been a certified and active Kripalu Yoga Teacher since 1998.
